I can't believe it is already Unit 9. Our last seminar is this week! I am almost completely done with my paper. I feel releived that it's almost finished, but I hope I did good because I am not much of a writer. This course has taught me a lot about writing. It has helped me with some minor problems that I used to have and I have learned a lot. I am excited to be almost finished with this class because it puts me one step closer to being done with school!

Well this week has been pretty crazy! I just got back from St. Louis, I went their for pre testing for my stem cell transplant. I found out that I am in remission!! YAY! All the scans I had done showed no signs of active Hodgkin's Lymphoma at all. I have to do one more round of chemo next week to keep it away before they start transplant. Transplant will start in May. I will be out of town in St. Louis for two whole months for the whole process. It will be a long journey but I am ready for it all to be over with and be healthy again!

Peer Reviews!!
It is already week 7, can you believe it? I just finished posting my discussion for this week. I am very excited to see what kind of interesting and helpful feedback I get back about my paper. I know it needs some work still! I think that peer reviews are great. They help the writer with any mistakes they may have made and give others point of views on the paper. They can only help us all to better our paper and make them interesting to read.. It should also be fun to read everyone else's papers! Well I hope everyone has a great week..

The last six weeks...
WOW! I can't believe we are already in week 6, time sure does fly by! This past six weeks has been a little harder then usual for me. I have been in the hospital two of the past six weeks receiving chemo therapy. The rest of the time I have been recovering and getting lots of rest. I think it makes it harder for me to focus on my school work because the chemo just drains all my energy completely. I'm praying this is the last of chemo and I will get to move on to transplant and beat this thing for good!! On another note, the past six weeks I have spent a lot of time with my family, which is always a plus. This next week should be very fun because St. Patrick's day, my moms birthday, and my brothers birthday are all on the same day.. Celebration time!!!

Unit 5.. How is school influencing my life at or up to this point??
School has influenced my life in very many ways.. Right now especially because, it is my goal to stay in school and finish, while going through every thing that I am in my life. At times it is very hard to get all the work done on time just because I am in the hospital all the time and very sick at points. Being able to have a blog and read other classmates posts inspire my in ways that make my think positive and keep myself on track. I love reading other peoples stories! It is my dream to be a nurse and help other people and while I am only getting my AA in Medical Assisting, I believe that it is all I can do right now. But I know one day I will be able to go to school to become an RN, it just takes time!! I have learned the more I think positive about everything, the easier it makes it all!

..Being An Online Student..
Hello Everyone! I hope you are all having a great week so far. This week I decided to write about the topic "being an online student". First of all I think that just having the opportunity to take online classes is amazing. When I first thought about doing so , I was a little nervous on what it would be like. After my first online class, I realized that it was pretty neat how the whole process works. I like talking online classes because I can fit it into my schedule very easily, which is better for me in my life right now. When I first graduated high school in May 2009, I knew I wanted to go to college. Even though I have cancer, I was determined to get my education so I applied for online school. Doing school online gives me the chance to get my education while I am in the hospital. Overall I think it is pretty cool and I enjoy it very much!!

Is it ever going to be over??
I just finished my discussion post for this class. I am excited and a little scared at the same time to start writing this paper. I think it will be challenging but, I have chose some topics that I am very familiar with to make it more fun. I think I can also learn a lot from writing this paper.
I will tell you a little about myself if you hadn't already read my "about me" section. I am nineteen years old and I live in Kansas City, MO. Unfortunately the only reason I am taking online classes is because I have Hodgkin's Lymphoma. I actually enjoy online classes though! Here lately the chemo therapy has worn me out completely and it is getting harder and harder to do anything at all. It seems like I have been fighting this disease very patiently but it will never end. I got diagnosed in October of 2008 and I am still fighting it. Here soon I am going to be doing a stem cell transplant that will hopefully cure it for good! When I am not in the hospital, I like to hang out with my friends and spend a lot of time with my family. I absolutely love being outside in the summertime. I am not much of a winter person at all. Other things I enjoy doing are watching movies, listening to music, shopping, and just having a good time!! I look forward to getting to know everyone in this class and reading every ones blogs!
